Integrity #8—Praises of Integrity

God built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which he has founded forever. He also chose David his servant … to shepherd Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them with his skillful hands. Psalm 78:69–72

Father, you created in order to display your glory and declared that the knowledge of your glory will fill the earth, as the waters cover the sea. You oversaw the dispersion of the genetic lines of Adam and Eve, so that at the right time Jesus would be born of a virgin to die in the place of your chosen people from every tribe and tongue and nation of earth, all so your glory would be praised. You have never wavered in your righteous commitment to display the fullness of your glory. Even our fallible leaders, such as David, are evidence of your integrity in this matter. In the Trinity there is no division. Father, Son and Holy Spirit rejoice with one joy and work together with one purpose. Jesus came and accomplished your will as though he were at a banquet. By maintaining your own integrity, you have encouraged me to maintain mine. The Spirit now gives me a heart that delights in following your way. He enables me to obey your commands with the same joy Jesus did. He enables me to know the certainty of your promises to those whose way is one with yours. You are indeed the great ONE! Amen.
