Living Wisely #9—Praised for Wisdom

“Behold, the days are coming,” declares The Eternal “When I shall raise up for David a righteous Branch. He will reign as king and act wisely, doing justice and righteousness in the land.” Jeremiah 23:5

So often, Lord Jesus, I celebrate your mighty acts, but today exaltation of your wisdom fills my soul. In the fullness of time you left your throne and the glory of Heaven to take on human flesh so I could have both a redeemer and a role model. You showed me how a person made in the image of God could celebrate his glory by living the obedience of faith. You glorified him fully by giving your life to deliver me from the kingdom of darkness and transfer me into the kingdom of light. I marvel at the wisdom of the wonderful love that moved him to use his wisdom to work out a way to remain righteous while he justified the ungodly. Now I anticipate your return and the establishment of your wise rule here on earth. I rejoice as I anticipate integrity and honor in high places where it rarely occurs today! What a pleasure to consider that disagreements will be resolved righteously and graciously! What a delight to think that every aspect of our society can be openly oriented to the experience of God’s grace! For by your wise rule, you will make righteousness and justice the order of the day. Now to him who is able to establish me according to the wisdom and power of the gospel—the preaching of reign of Jesus Christ—to the only wise God, through you, O Christ, be glory forever. Amen.
