Sustenance #8—Sustained Praise

Put your situation before Yahweh, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22

Most mighty God, you established the earth’s foundations through your wisdom and power. The pillars of the earth belong to you, and the world rests on them. You created, shaped, and guided forests and glades, mountains and plains, rivers and seas by your perfect wisdom. The glorious fullness of the world reveals your holiness! Day after day and night after night, creation sings your praise as you sustain its abundant richness. You provide us with sun, wind, and rain, ensuring that the sands of the sea and the dust of the earth project the details of your design. Everything rests securely and confidently in your hands. No one but you can shake it, nor can anyone shake us. Because you are at our right hand, we remain steadfast and will never be shaken. Therefore, our hearts rejoice, and our bodies dwell in safety. We do not prevail by our strength because you guard our steps along the path. We have faced daunting obstacles when we were tired, weary, lost, and afraid, and we have wondered where help would come from to overcome them. Our help has come from you, the maker of heaven and earth. Our burdens are nothing to you because you hold the weight of the universe. You have borne our burdens and us with ease. When our flesh and hearts failed, you have been our strength. When our faith faltered, you gave us the wings of eagles and allowed us to dance on the mountains like gazelles. We offer this praise for all your sustaining grace in the name of the One through whom all grace abounds.
