Because your extravagant kindness is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live. I will lift up my hands to your name. My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth offers praises with joyful lips. Psalm 63:3–5
O Glorious God, though the whole realm of nature were mine, I could not be satisfied. Even if I were the ruler of all the kingdoms of the earth, I could not be satisfied. For you alone satisfy completely and eternally. The generous, extravagant outpouring of your joyful goodness into my life is better than life itself. So I can be content with any created thing you make available to me. You have earned a reputation with me for being holy by demonstrating to me your infinite, unexcelled and irreplaceable worth through all you do on my behalf. I want no more than the fellowship of Heaven that is mine as I have Jesus as my saving Lord. I want no more than the love of Heaven that is mine as the Holy Spirit pours out your love in my heart. I want no more than the promise of your eternally showing me the surpassing riches of your grace in the fellowship of your people. I want no more than being filled with all the fullness of God. With the assurance of your wise and powerful presence, I can be relaxed and comfortable and joyful and grateful in every circumstance. With the experience of your gracious providence, my heart is at rest as I perceive you in all your work for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
