Call upon me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor me. Psalm 50:15
Because of my love for you, O God, you delivered me. Because I knew your reputation, you set me securely in a place of refuge. As I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, you were with me. In every trouble you have been present. There is no God beside you. You alone work for those who call on you and wait patiently for you. In your mercy you stooped to my weakness, tenderly, patiently supplying the wisdom and power I lack, so I pursued your desires for my life. Your Spirit even augmented my prayers with intensely fervent groanings of his own, having felt the deepest desires of my heart and matched them to those of yours. The fruit of loving, joyful, obedience burst forth on the branch of my life, a fitting tribute to your gracious work. Because of Jesus you forgive my sin, restore our fellowship, enable my humility, overcome my timidity, and give me the gifts I need for ministry, when I call out to you. Your answers are always more than generous, more than faithful, more than I imagine I’ll need. How satisfying it is to behold your salvation as you draw me nearer and nearer through the mercy and grace that flow from your throne as I draw near to you in prayer! Forever amen.
